I had been fit most of my life when suddenly at age 45 things changed. I was eating the same, but gaining weight. People started to comment. As my weight increased, my activity decreased and my health markers were hitting an all time low. I knew it was bad when I found myself on cholesterol and high blood pressure medicine. I knew I had to take charge of my health. It was not easy but I did it. Sometimes my way of looking at and experiencing thigs is different because I am an HSP.

Today I make healthy choices about my food and activity. That does not mean I never eat ice cream ( dairy free for me). It means that I make choices that work for me. I am more aware of how different foods affect my body. I do not feel well when I eat gluten so I stay away from it. But I feel strong when I eat carbs and protein together. Chicken and rice with beans is my favorite and I know which fast food places make it the best so I can stay satisfied when out and about. I also find that if I exercise 3 times a week my body feels good and I am less stressed. But 4 times and I am sore and tired.
As an HSP I find that meditating and being in nature makes me feel calm and connected.
